A Quick Look At The Pixar Dvd
Animation has come a long way and the Pixar DVD has played a pivotal role in its success. From Walt Disney Studios to the Loony Tunes, animation has become a popular form of media that continues to grow and is rapidly entering serious film making genres. Starting as crudely hand drawn pictures, we have evolved through the introduction of computers and CGI imagery. Computer imagery makes the on-screen animation look real and life-like. Monsters Inc., Cars, and Ratatouille are just a few of the big-name movies that Pixar animation Studios have released.
Pixar’s Monsters Inc., sold 13 million copies in its first week, followed by Cars which came in a close second. Many other titles sold by the company have sold over a million copies each. These DVDs are available to you in regular screen, theatrical release, and Blu-Ray. The appetite of the public for these marvelous DVDs is not satiated, they are always awaiting the next release of a Pixar movie.
There are multiple features in a Pixar DVD that make it a very unique and easy for any family member to use. The menu is easily navigated by children or adults. The characters on the menu are bright, bold, and a young child does not need to be able to read to figure out which button to push, while an older person does not have to read detailed fine print to get to the other great features of the film. You get wonderful behind-the-scenes clips, and many more features that make the film even easier to appreciate.
Having the ability to view a Pixar DVD an average of a thousand times with no disruption in the fabulous color or clarity of the film, makes a significant impact on a person who has spent hours rewinding a VHS tape by hand after it has reached the end of it’s useful lifespan.
The most popular DVD from this company so far has been Monsters Inc. In 2002 Monsters, Inc. Broke records by a wide margin. One of the first major Pixar DVDs to sell a good many numbers is Toy Story. This was Pixar’s breakthrough film debut. It has since had two DVD releases, one theatrical re-release, and now a new Blu-Ray version. Toy Story has remained a very popular movie ever since its first release.
When a person invests in a two-disc edition Pixar film, they receive an entire disc of extra features that include a director’s commentary, interviews with the cartoonists, visual directors, behind-the-scenes footage, and great out-takes. Each of the stars who are characterized in the film are interviewed and discuss their participation in the film.
For those of us who wait anxiously for each new Disney Pixar DVD that is released, many of the movies are collector’s items that are kept in a safe place for future generations. The beauty an dedication of the team at Pixar has resulted in an amazing genre that will eventually come into it’s own as a unique part of the film industry.
Every family has at least one Pixar DVD. This does mean that there have to be children in the family. Adults like the comity and most of the movies. They also like the clarity of the animation. Children like the movies because of the storytelling. They also like the characters.
